National Apprenticeships Week

Next week (5th-9th March 2018) will mark the 11th UK Government’s National Apprenticeship week. This year’s theme is “Apprenticeships Work”.  It plans to demonstrate how apprenticeships work “for individuals, employers, the community and the wider economy”.

It’s a time for the UK to showcase the abilities of apprentices across the country using the hashtag  #NAW2018. It is hoped that this celebration will encourage even more people to train while on the job, creating new opportunities for both themselves and British industry as a whole.

You can search the Gov.UK Event Map to find more information about events happening near you.

Meet the Snizl Apprentices

Last year we took on two apprentices within our Marketing Department, both of whom play an important role in our content creation and social media marketing sector of the business.

Molly Dixon

My name is Molly Dixon, I’ve lived and grown up in Nottingham, Carlton all my life and I’m 19 years old.

I found and applied for this apprenticeship online and so far it’s taught me a lot and I’m enjoying working at Snizl Ltd. Before I got the apprenticeship here, I studied Media Studies, English Language and Sociology at Bilborough College and in my spare time, I play tennis.

In the future, I’d really like to go into television or the entertainment industry and work for a multi-national company like ITV, Disney or MTV. I have a passion for new media and the ever-changing world of showbiz.

Coca-Cola Truck Tour 2017 Blog

This blog was a lot of fun. I went out on my own down to Victoria Retail Park and visited the Coca-Cola Truck after listing the whole tour on our website. I took Snizl Business cards and got talking with the event manager there who gave me an exclusive view around the front for pictures and free Coke vouchers, then wrote all about it in this festive blog!

National Pizza Day 2018 Blog

For this project, It was National Pizza day, something everyone should love! So I had to go and research where pizza came from and add a bit of history. Then, I listed pizzerias in different areas around the Midlands so that readers and customers could celebrate World Pizza day for themselves! This meant finding the restaurants, address, menus and website to create a listing on our website and a link.

Hart’s Wedding Fair Blog

I had the opportunity to visit first hand the Hart’s Hotel and Restaurant Wedding Fair in Nottingham!  After getting lots of video and picture footage of wonderful stalls and speaking to the stall vendors I was able to write a blog reviewing my whole experience. I spoke with the Photography company Jay Glenn and the Wedding Cake company Strawberry Cupcakes who invited me to take pictures of what they were offering and described in great detail what they do for customers. Then, at work, I researched the companies and included them in my blog with links to their businesses and shared it on Snizl’s Social Media!

Alex Burroughes

My name is Alex Burroughes. I am 18 years of age and I hail from St Albans in Hertfordshire, a city famous for it’s impressive Norman cathedral and being the birthplace of Professor Stephen Hawkins.

I made the move to Nottinghamshire when I was just 8 years old and have lived in the county ever since. I was educated at the Brunts Academy in Mansfield, a school that can trace its history back to 1867  where I excelled in ICT, Production Arts and Business Studies.  I loved school and worked hard, passing all of my GCSEs and A-Levels with flying colors.

In my spare time; I am a budding author of ‘fantasy books’, (a passion of mine since as was a wee lad) and I make YouTube videos and podcasts, usually connected to football, another topic of which I am extremely passionate about.
My ambition is to get into the entertainment industry;  whether it be writing, television, film or radio scripts. I consider myself a creative person and I would like to explore that in any future career.

Top 10 Fictional Mums

This was a project that I came up with the idea for so that it could fit within our Mother’s Day campaign. I did a lot of research on people’s favourite Mums in television and film and ask lots of peoples opinion to make the list. I enjoyed this project a lot as it was very fulfilling to do my own project.
