A whole month of beer, pubs, and prizes – What more could you wish for! And because here at Snizl, we love Milds and other Cask Real Ales we are giving away a fabulous stainless steel one-pint tankard in our latest competition.
Mild Month May
It’s this time of year that CAMRA promotes, supports, and celebrates the amazing and sometimes forgotten cask style beer mild. CAMRA encourages at least one pub in their area to have a mild available on their pumps during the month of May. The Leicester CAMRA branch has taken this one step further and has organised the Mild Trail for the fifth year running.
Mild
Mild is a style of cask ale, typically low in alcohol content, that comes in a variety of colours and flavours from blacks, browns, to pale amber. The flavour of the darker ones tends to be Malty, roasted, with caramel aromas, whereas the lighter milds tend to be more fruity with a slight hoppiness to them.

51 pubs are taking part in the Mild Trail in Leicestershire. Now that is one colossal pub crawl, but don’t worry, you have from 28 April until 2 June to complete the trail to be entered into the prize draw. And you don’t have to be a CAMRA member to take part in this fantastic beer swilling event, it’s open to everyone whether you’re a keen Mild drinker or wanting to try it for the first time.
Not only does the trail give you the opportunity to try lots of new exciting beers, it’s also the perfect time to try out some public houses that you haven’t been to before. Many of the pubs have sponsored a T-shirt for the event as well as donated other prizes to be won.
You can take part in the Mild Trail on your own, with friends, or join one of CAMRA’s organised social events
How it Works
Download the Mild Trail Sticker Chart, or find one available on the centre page of April/May edition of the Leicester Drinker.
Collect a sticker from each participating pub that you visit and purchase a mild and add them to your mild sticker chart.
Collect in excess of 14 different pub stickers to have the chance to receive an “I would walk 500 milds” limited edition T-shirt.
All entries will also be entered into a prize draw for the other donated prizes.
Vote for your favourite mild in may pub of the month
And finally, have fun and remember to drink responsibly.
