Local Leicester Mum creates a fun way to cool down this summer

It’s fairly safe to say that we are smack bang in the middle of a heat-wave and so of course, everyone is desperate for a way to cool down. Look no further than these innovative crochet water balloons. With the potential to create hours of summer fun for the kids (and the adults too), these water balloons are completely reusable, making them environmentally and economically friendly too.

Kiz Laird-Connolly from Leicester, started KizWiz Crochet due to her love of crocheting. Having taught herself the art about 4 years ago, Kiz was initially crocheting for family (blankets and hats etc) until her husband pointed out that she was too good to be giving away her creations for nothing. And so KizWiz Crochet was born.

A year on and everyone is loving Kiz’s designs. The most popular pieces are the recycled t-shirt bath mats (very on trend), the amiguri animals and of course, the crochet water balloons.

When asked where Kiz hoped her business would go in the future, she replied

Next step is I’m hoping to develop my brand enough to start designing patterns and selling them!

You can find Kiz and shop her product range on SnizlFacebook and Etsy.

If you want to get involved and have fun with your very own set of crochet water balloons, be sure to enter our Snizl competition.
