Whether you’re into mochas, cappucinos or lattes, coffee is something that we’re all loving right now. As we go in to the colder months, it’s nice to keep your hands warm and toasty with a steaming cup of hot coffee. Or to make them even colder with an iced brew if that’s your thing! And while Costa and Starbucks are perfectly fine, here at Snizl we prefer to support local, independent coffee businesses. Here are just a few of our favourites in Leicester!
Using the finest beans from Brazil, India and Venezuela, Bru serves their own speciality blend of coffee. They also serve a great selection of food including sandwiches made with locally baked bread and Belgian waffles. Their true calling though is gelato and they believe coffee and gelato to be a winning combination!
With ethics and morality at the heart of this coffee shop, it opened 2 years ago as a social enterprise project. Now popular for their fresh coffee and tasty food, all of the cafes proceeds go to supporting Open Hands Trust; a Leicester charity who help people in need.
St Martins Square is known as a hotspot in Leicester and if you’re wanting to take in your surroundings with a cup of coffee then look no further than St Martins Tea & Coffee Merchants. The coffee is extra fresh because it’s roasted at their own roastery, just 10 minutes away!
If you’re after a truly high quality cup of coffee then you’ll be drawn in by the 100% Arabica beans at The Coffee Counter, which are all roasted on site. As well as using these at their own place, this coffee shop also supplies other local businesses with the beans to increase the quality of and passion for coffee in Leicester.
